Indigene Economics Group is a team of expert consultants dedicated to the economic development and sovereignty of American Indian nations. We specialize in the formulation of federally-funded economic development plans and the sustainable deployment of energy and mineral resources.    

 

Our team has extensive experience working with tribal governments, renewable and conventional energy developers, mining operators, and individual entrepreneurs to achieve tribal economic development goals. At Indigene Economics Group, we are committed to creating a better and more independent future for American Indian communities.

Jack R. Stevens

Cofounder

Jack is an expert in the field of tribal economic development and has over 20 years of experience working with American Indian nations. He is passionate about helping his clients achieve their goals and is committed to providing high-quality consulting services.

  • Headed the US Department of Interior’s Office of Indian Energy and Economic Development (IEED)

  • Administered the Department’s Indian energy and mineral development programs, the Indian Affairs Loan Guarantee program, and all economic development initiatives on Indian trust lands

  • Named "Timothy Wapato Federal Advocate of the Year" by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development for his support for Native American entrepreneurs

  • BA Stanford University; JD Georgetown University Law Center

Steve Manydeeds

Cofounder

Steve is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, a geologist, and an expert in tribal energy and mineral production. He sees the opportunities for Indian energy and mineral expansion and delivers outsized results for his clients.

  • Served as Chief of the US Department of Interior’s Division of Energy and Mineral Development (DEMD)

  • Steve drove a revenue increase from $200M in 2002 to over $6.63B in 2019 for tribal energy and mineral production, increased the number of projects by 600%, and increased energy royalties by more than 300% to exceed $1B for the first time ever

  • Provided detailed technical and business assistance on energy and mineral resources for +250 reservations

  • Steve is a member of the Colorado School of Mines Innovation Center Advisory Board and its Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage Task Force
